JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LIFE GROUPS

GROUP LESSON FACILITATOR

The Life Group Lesson Facilitator is responsible to lead an Interactive Bible Based Discussion. The goal is not to teach but to lead the group in a discovery of God’s truths.

Qualifications of a Life Group Lesson Facilitator:

Interactive Bible Based Discussion

Curriculum will be selected by entire Leadership Team; Leader, Lesson Facilitator, and Host

Discussions will be interactive rather than lecture based and will encourage participation from all members of the group

Discussions will avoid topics that may cause division or confusion and are not consistent with the doctrinal statement of SLCC

Discussions will be around 30 minutes in length

It is important to remember to lead the study and guide the discussion rather than to teach the lesson. Different from a Sunday morning message, Life Groups provide an opportunity for members to search God’s Word individually and then come together to “talk it out”. The Lesson Facilitator’s ultimate goal is to encourage the life-changing commitment to self-study of God’s Word in each of the group’s members. During the second year of the group it is important to identify and develop qualified apprentices and embrace apprentice development as a measure of success.
