JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LIFE GROUPS
GROUP LEADER
The Life Group Leader is the Administrator of the group and is responsible for providing their group with Vision, Direction, and Care. The Leader is responsible to the Ministry Director of Life Groups, Roger Graber.
Qualifications of a Life Group Leader:
Provide Vision
Help to create the group dynamic by creating an atmosphere that will bring and bond the group together. Commit to organizing and completing two Social Events and Service Projects for the year.
Provide Direction/Communication
Have the members sign the Life Groups Covenant
Assist the Lesson Facilitator in the selection of curriculum
Maintain contact with members of your Life Group when necessary throughout the week to pass along important information such as:
Contacting members who were unable to attend
Prayer requests for the week
Any pertinent information for the next weeks meeting
Social Events or Service Projects
Keep Life Group your Life Group Coach updated on the status of your group; new members joining the group or members dropping out.
Provide Care
Shepherd the group by facilitating the group meetings and monitoring the well-being of the group and individuals in the group
Lead a prayer time each meeting being sensitive to use methods that are comfortable to everyone in the group
Create a safe environment by being willing to deal with problem discussion, attitudes or behavior that is detrimental to the group
Contact members that miss meetings to see if there is a need
Organize your group to take care of the needs of individuals in your group (examples; providing meals, helping with a work project, or organizing a Baby Shower). Inform the church office of special needs
A Life Group Leader carries the overall responsibility of the group but is encouraged to empower individuals in the group to take ownership and serve the group in their areas of giftedness. A Life Group Coach is provided for each Life Group Leader. Feel free to contact your Coach with any questions or concerns you may have. During the second year of the group it is important to identify and develop qualified apprentices and embrace apprentice leader development as a measure of success.
