How About the Culver's Run?

The Culver's Run
WHAT: 13 miles round trip from the Dairy Queen on 84th Street in the middle of downtown Papillion to Culver's Restaurant in Bellevue by the Twin Creek Cinema Center You can park your car at the Papillion City Park or at Dairy Queen and hop on the trail and head to Culver's for ice Cream. For beginners this is an easy ride - it's pretty flat all the way - and you can stop and have lunch! Be sure and bring a bike lock if you are going inside to eat - or you can sit outside at tables and enjoy your meal. The ride takes about an hour. You can also pick up the trail at the YMCA on 72nd for a shorter ride. This is a great ride to do with kids! Check out Culver's "Flavor of the Day" by clicking here

Another biking experience is called The Taco Ride

The Taco Ride WHAT: 19 miles round trip from Council Bluffs to Mineola. WHEN: 6 PM every Thursday. You can ride to the Mineola Steakhouse 408 Main St Mineola, IA 51554 Phone (712) 526-2078 WHERE: The trail starts at the trailhead of the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, near the intersection of Iowa Highway 275 and County Road 92. Click on Wabash Trace Nature Trail for more information The Walnut Creek Recreation Area is one of the smallest lakes in the series of flood control projects implemented under the auspices of the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resource District. It does however offer a number of amenities including a 3 mile trail that surreptitiously connects to the West Papio trail. Other attractions include restrooms, drinking fountains, a playground, picnic areas, an equestrian trail and a host of outdoor activities including fishing, camping, and boating. The trail is serpentine and flat with the exception of a straight run across the top of the dam and a steep winding grade near the parking lot. You can connect to the West Papio via an underground crossing of Highway 370 on the northeast side of the lake. From there, you may take any number of streets through the neighborhood to Lincoln Street where the path can be picked up again. A connector trail is currently under construction that will eliminate the need to traverse the neighborhood route and shorten the distance slightly. TRAIL STATISTICS: * Length: 3 miles (that's just for Walnut Creek) * Surface: Paved - 10 foot wide concrete. * Difficulty: Easy at lake trail (Connector to West Papio: Moderate)
